Due to the consolidation of the Federal Reserve System's check-processing operations, funds from checks you deposit may be available faster. Many checks that previously were considered "non-local" - based on the check's routing number - now will be considered "local," and generally will be made available no later than the second Business Day after deposit.

Chevy Chase Bank is in the Philadelphia check processing region of the Federal Reserve System. Therefore, checks drawn on all banks served by the Fed's Philadelphia office are considered local checks by Chevy Chase Bank.

To determine if a check will be treated as "local" for funds availability, look at its routing number. If it begins with any of the four-digit numbers listed below, the check is considered "local."

Where Do I Find a Check's Routing Number?
The routing number is located in the lower portion of a check, between the "|:" and "|:" symbols, typically in the left corner of a check, as indicated in this illustration.
