Account Terms: The minimum balance required to open a business checking account is $100, $25 for Student Checking and personal Completely Free Checking, and $100 for all other personal checking accounts. As of 9/1/2009, the Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for the personal Interest Checking Account is 0.05%. Rates are subject to change. Fees may reduce earnings. Requirements to Receive Cash Bonus:
New Customer: To be eligible to receive the $75 cash bonus, (1) the new checking account must be opened from 9/14/09 to 11/30/09; (2) the primary owner (the first person or business named on the statement) on the new account may not be a primary owner on any other Chevy Chase Bank checking account as of 9/13/09. Owners and signers on a business checking account may receive a referral bonus for opening a personal checking account and owners of a personal checking account may receive a referral bonus for opening a business checking account; (3) you must do one of the three qualifying activities using your new checking account (receive a direct deposit or ACH credit of $250 or more, make five non PIN-based Check Card purchases, or make five online bill payments) by 12/31/09; and (4) the new checking account must be open and in good standing at the time the bonus is paid.
Current Customer: To be eligible to receive the $25 cash bonus, you must (1) be a Chevy Chase Bank checking, savings and/or money market account customer with all account(s) in good standing; (2) you must refer a non-Chevy Chase Bank checking account customer to open a checking account; (3) the new customer must have met all requirements to receive the cash bonus; and (4) Chevy Chase Bank must receive a referral form with your information in the "Current Customer" section at the same time the new customer is opening the account and no later than 11/30/09.
These bonuses may be reported to the IRS. This offer cannot be combined with any other Chevy Chase Bank new account opening offer. Cash bonuses will be credited to the account by 1/30/10. If your cash bonus is not credited by then, and you believe this is in error, you must notify us by 3/15/10.
By applying to open an account under this referral promotion, you consent to
Chevy Chase Bank disclosing to the person who referred you that: (1) you are a
Chevy Chase Bank customer and (2) you met the criteria for receiving the bonus.
