What information is printed on the check during the scanning process?
Depending on the scanner and system settings, many checks can be “franked” as part of the deposit process. This will print the words “electronically deposited” on the face of the check to reduce the possibility that the item could be presented twice.
Do I need to enter the dollar amount of each check?
Not usually, as Chevy Chase Remote Deposit, using optical Courtesy Amount Recognition and Legal Amount Recognition (CAR/LAR) technology, will attempt to recognize the written and courtesy amount on the face of each check. When creating a new batch for deposit, you will be prompted to enter the batch total at the beginning of the process. The total value of your scanned checks must match the amount you entered. Chevy Chase Remote Deposit provides all necessary tools to ensure a balanced deposit.
