I chose a career at Chevy Chase Bank because of the opportunity to help customers make their banking easy, convenient and rewarding. I enjoy assisting customers with managing their money and maximizing their savings and investments. - Why do you love being the Branch Manager on a university campus?
I enjoy being a Branch Manager on a university campus because I believe that I can help educate students as they begin managing their finances for the first time. It is important for students to learn the basics of banking early on while they're in college, so that they develop good banking habits for the future. - Which college or university did you attend, and when did you graduate?
I attended the University of Maryland, and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Physical Education and Education K-12. - How did your college education prepare you for your career at
Chevy Chase Bank?
During my studies at the University of Maryland, I took several communications classes as part of my curriculum. From these classes, I learned effective communication skills, which has helped me build relationships with customers throughout my career at Chevy Chase Bank. - What’s your favorite memory from college?
My favorite memory from college is attending Midnight Madness, which was a huge event that kicks off basketball season every year. - What advice would you give to current students?
My advice is for students to manage their money carefully, by recording transactions on a check register and using Chevy Chase Online Banking to easily manage their account - day or night. I also always recommend that students create a budget for themselves and stick to it.
